I haven't been blogging for the past few days but that's because I've been so busy catching up with everyone and passing my time with awesome-to-the-max activities!
Think:
- Kite flying - Pot-luck - Upwards (the board game) - Movies - A trip to the Botanic Gardens
The festive month this year has indeed been great, packed to the brim with fun-filled stuff. :)
Cruise will be coming up soon once the new year begins, I'm really excited about it. I hear we'll be entitled to six meals a day! Hopefully I wont put on the pounds! HAHAHA. Gosh, I can't wait for it!
To my darling Ms Universe, I won't be able to celebrate your birthday with you this year.
BUT, HERE'S WISHING YOU THE LOVELIEST OF BIRTHDAYS ON YOUR 21ST! MAY GOD BLESS YOU SO MUCH:D I'll celebrate with you and the rest once I return okay? LOVE YOU MANY MANY. And, I'm so glad you're home!!! You must regale us with your tales from abroad okay?
I was ill the whole of today! :( Had a runny nose, hacking cough and an itchy throat. Definitely not the best of days for me. Good thing though, that I had Ashie for company!
Went to Changi Hospital to accompany Ashie for a medical appointment. Had lunch at this place called Eatzi which is a slightly more casual branch of Jack's Place. The food was really worth it. I had a N.Z Sirloin Steak set for $9.80 which came with cream of chicken soup, tea and mango ice-cream! Ashie had some cheesey fish thingy. Altogether it was not too bad. :)
Went to Starbucks@One Fullerton after that to write Christmas cards. I got these really tiny ones, I hope people won't think I'm cheap cuz they were really quite expensive! They were from Prints. I think they're pretty sweet-looking though. :)
Stayed there for quite some time... Two hours to be specific. Then, Ashie went home to collect his stuff for camp. Waited for him for ONE WHOLE HOUR at Novena cuz he apparently had a tummy ache, plus he needed to pack and all. Good thing I had his ipod with me and I watched Fast and Furious to pass the time. Pretty fast paced movie! I wouldn't watch it a second time though. Haha.
Shared a cab with Ashie since he was going to the West area too. Finally back home:D
I'm finally back to blogging. And Facebook-ing and anything else that requires the Internet. You see, my Internet has been down the past few days so I couldn't go online the WHOLE WEEK! It was TORTUROUS. I tried calling my modem company and they told me to call my service provider. When I did, they told me to call back my modem company. It was so frustrating! Praise God though, that in everything, He still reigns. I had a pleasant blessing in disguise. :) You see, my dad got so fed-up about the modem he suddenly remembered we had another one which we kept in the store for a really long time. If not for this incident, we may have denied the opportunity for a brand new sleek modem! Sometimes He works in ways we cannot see, but He definitely has a way out for us. Now, my internet is working so well. I'm a happy girl! HAHAHA.
Anyway, this week has been a blast. Had a really good time getting together with the CM girls for a wacky sleepover! We cooked and ate quite a bit, I must say. But then again, CM bonds thru food yeah? HAHA. I would never have imagined that 7 people could squeeze into my little room. But we all did and I really enjoyed myself tonnes. Thanks babes for the wonderful breakfast ya'll lovingly prepared. :)
The trip to Haji Lane the following day was pretty awesome too. Got a bling top and swirley whirley dress! :D
Love all the pics we took!
The next day Sammie came to stay. She stayed for two nights:) Always so glad when she comes over to 'peh' me. Since nobody was at home we shared a HUGEMONGO secret too. HEE HEE. Okay no, that sounded wrong. We didnt do anything WRONG WRONG. We basically hung out and had some htht. Loves!
Samsam also lovingly sacrificed of herself to help out for my Service Learning Project. My GESL group planned a games day for 190 kids on Friday and she came along to help as one of the game's facilitators. You did a great job sammie! And I'm really sorry you became so lobster red! HAHAHA. It's cute though. SAMMIE the red-nosed reindeer... Had a very shiny nose...
Today we had Youth. Changed into our uniforms because we just wanted to have a little fun. Wore my PJ uniform and boy did it bring back memories from the past- the folding of skirts, the evading of Chua Poh Teck, the laughter, and just all the fun I had. Gosh, how I miss the times. :(
All in all, I had a really good week. Praise God that a new one is about to begin!
Verdict on the movie 'Mulan': AWESOME TO THE MAX!!!
I recommend ALL girls to watch this show. It rocks, period.
But seriously, if you liked the Power Puff girls, you'd dig this movie. It's GIRL POWER forever! I LIKE VICKY ZHAO TOO! I think she's a great actress and really pretty in a non-conventional way. She could pull off course clothing and mud on her face with such ease! I don't know how she did it, but she managed to make dirt and grime look glorious and heroic in the show. She makes us girls so proud! I mean, who would have imagined that a girl in ancient times could become a heroine admired by so many people- and not just people in general, but soldiers in the army? Soldiers who would only have had given their respect to someone who met their high expectations. Mulan (Zhao) was a valiant, gutsy and fearless General in the Wei army who led her men through many victorious battles against the Rourans (Mongols). Swift and skillful with the sword, thousands fell at her feet. Indomitable, Mulan was the epitome of a great warrior.
What men can do, girls can do better aye? YESSIREE! HAHAHA:D
Today we had Church Clean-Up:) It doesn't look much cleaner, but I'm sure there's a lot less dust than when we first started out this morning. Haha. After all, who can really see dust that clearly anyway? It's only when people start sneezing and sniffling around that we know a place is dusty. I mean, c'mon, we're practically made from dust ourselves right? :D But all in all I had a good work out.
After clean-up, we went for lunch then Nad and I headed to J8 to get the files for our Youth Camp Booklet. (Nad says it's no longer called booklet cuz it's A4 size instead of the folded kind) I guess she's right.
So we got white files with a transparent cover and lugged them back to Church. Cabbed back and started on our filing...
Finally accomplished everything, or at least almost everything, by 520pm and headed back to J8 to meet Ashie. Walked around a bit and BOUGHT SOME CLOTHES! Actually, it's only a top and a skirt. But still, I'm a happy girl:D Also, since Ashie's friend works in the shop which I got my clothes from, I managed to get a 30% discount! WHOOPEE! It's great to have connections. Not mine, but good enough. Hahaha.
Had a very productive day today:D
Cheerios everyone. Ever heard of song Sugar Sugar? I think it fits my blog perfectly. Listen to it, pretty catchy I must say. :D
Oh and I've been stuck on the song Only Hope by Mandy Moore! It's a rather old song but I still love it! I think she's an awesome singer.
1. Gonna go Westmall for lunchies 2. Meeting Jaish, Jas, Jacq and Ahpeh for MULAN later at 4pm 3. Dinner out perhaps? 4. Supper???
You know, I'm wondering if Mulan will have little WUSHU, the dragon, in the movie since it's no longer a cartoon. Real people will be acting in the movie to depict either a story in the history of China or a fictional Chinese story. From trailers of the movie, it seems a little gory with many battles fought and blood shed. I'm guessing it's not gonna be a saccharine sweet, pro-children movie anymore. HAHA.
Just printed out the final copy of Youth Camp Booklet 2009. Yes! It's finally done. :D
These few days have been a blast. :) Glad that exams are over and the partying can officially start! HAHA.
Went to the Sentosa yesterday, for instance, and it was good. Initially the skies threatened rain, no wait, it did rain! But thankfully it was only for a short while and we could get back to tanning again. Didn't tan much though... Maybe because though the sun was out, it wasn't scorching hot enough to stimulate my melanocytes to produce eumelanin- a.k.a the pigment associated with producing the golden brown colour in tanning. So no, I do not look bronzed or sun kissed. :( But it was fun time spent nonetheless. :D
Alrighteys, that was just a quick update of one of my activities so far. Will elaborate on more when I've got the time. As of now, I've gotta rush to get changed cuz I'm meeting my mom at Raffles place for facial! :D WHEE, haven't gone for one in a million years.
